Playing PowerPoint SlideShow in a Small Window instead of Full Screen
Originally PowerPoint was intended to be used for presenting PowerPoint slideshows in a projector, but time was changed and nowadays we can see other uses of PowerPoint presentations. For example, you may see that PowerPoint is used for presenting online webinars or training employees remotely using TeamViewer, GoView or GoToMeeting software, but you can also use PowerPoint to record your screen or screencasts using free tools like Screenr.
If you want to play your slideshows in a small window that you can control easily in Windows, instead of the full screen mode, then this tip may be really useful for you as a presenter.
Configure PowerPoint slideshow to play in a resizable window instead of full screen mode
Go to SlideShow and then Setup Slide Show.
Now, in the Set Up Show dialog, make sure to select Browsed by an individual (window). By default you will see that the Presented by a speaker (full screen) is selected.
Now, every time you start the slideshow for example using the keystroke F5 then you will see that the slideshow opens in a regular window instead of full screen.
You can use this configuration to:
- Record screencast using PowerPoint and include animations and transitions in a resizable window
- Perform online webinars using tools like TeamViewer for presentations and GoToMeeting without entering full screen mode
- Share a Window online with the presentation while you are working on other windows at the same time
- Play the slideshow in multiple monitors
Record a screencast – Here you can see how we have recorded this screencast using Screenr.
