A successful speaker is the one who talks and stands with graceful gestures and facial expressions in front of his/her audience.

Giving a Seminar Presentation

So to prepare the best representation for seminar presentations or seminar speeches, you should deal with 7 significant aspects. If you fail to pay proper attention to these elements, it may result in an unsuccessful presentation.

Let’s discuss the seven elements in brief:

  1. The presenter
  2. Clear message
  3. Target audience
  4. Communication channels
  5. The Feedback
  6. The Noise
  7. Proper Setting

Now a brief discussion about above seven aspects:

Presenter or Speaker

This element is the most important one because a speaker is the One who is source of message for any kind of presentation or speech. It is important to stick to the massage that a presenter want to convey to his/ her audience but unfortunately today most of the speakers focus on visual aids then just aid.

Similarly there are 3 major factors about Presenter:

  1. Speaker’s credibility that relies on competence, trustworthiness, plus will. Right attitude will take his presentation to a great level.
  2. Speaker’s inspiration in giving any kind of seminar presentation should be clear and inspirational.
  3. The style of delivering your presentation adopted by the speaker must compliment the topic of speech and be effective and clear.

The message

Again, it is essential as the first one. Whenever a speaker delivers any message to his audience verbally or non-verbally must consist of good Content, well structure, or exceptional style.

So, for this reason, you should always have good research and take care of your audience’s tastes and preferences while giving seminar presentations. Now comes the style again, an essential element. It could be formal or informal depends on the event and your audience. Lastly, the structure could also vary according to the event or audience. Still, it always should meet three basic structures like the first Introduction, then Body, and finally Conclusion.

Communication Channel

A speaker uses several modes such as pictorial, aural channels and non-verbal. It becomes essential that you chose the best communication channels to convey proper information to your audience. You need to take care of facial expressions, gestures, posture, body movement, proper diagrams, charts, graphs, Objects, pictures, variations in pitch and volume and tone of your voice etc.

Target audience

Remember. Thoroughly audience analysis is essential. If a speaker will analyze properly then he will be able to present his ideas and thoughts accordingly. So a speaker must consider few factors like Sex, Age, Marital Status, Geographic location, Race, Group membership, Career and Education etc.

The feedback process

Feedback is all about the response that you get from your audience after you finish your seminar presentation. But, unless a speaker does not respond to audience queries completely, the feedback process will not be completed.

It becomes the speaker’s responsibility of a presenter to provide pertinent information. You can also establish a healthy relationship with your audience by providing them solutions to their question with patience.

The Noise

A speaker must deal with two main types of noise:

  1. Internal Noise: this situation occurs when the speaker is confused or does not know what to say. Avoid it.
  2. External Noise: this situation take place when people make noise by talking, coughing, shifting sitting patterns, temperature, poor ventilation system, poor lighting etc.

If you want to avoid these situations then make use of verbal and non-verbal communication mode and use repetition of your speech.

Proper Setting

You should always look for a proper sitting plan as if you want that your audience should concentrate on what you are instead of looking after good sitting s then choose a place that has all the availabilities of facilities. For the reason you must make proper changes if necessary. Thrice check all the sitting as well as speaking arrangements that you and your audience will be using.

Therefore, giving a seminar presentation can be a great experience if you make proper use of these 7 factors.
