Using a Free Breaking News Generator to Make an Engaging PowerPoint Slide
A Breaking News background in a PowerPoint presentation can help to grab the audience attention. These breaking news backgrounds are like those seen in TV news like CNN or BBC.
It is very easy to make one of these slides with your own custom content, using a free online breaking news generator tool like the one provided by ClassTools.net
First, visit http://www.classtools.net/breakingnews/. By default, you’ll see text placeholders, but you can edit the textboxes and the image on the right side will be updated with your own text. Using this generator, you can specify:
- The News Channel name.
- A Headline.
- A Description line.
- The Date.
Additionally, if you do not want to use the default photo background you can upload your own breaking news background design. Just need to choose or drag and drop a picture file, or you can try clicking Next sample to get a different image each time.
When you are ready, click Download and an image will be displayed in your browser. Right click over the image and Save As so you can save the image to your computer.
Then, open a new slide in your PowerPoint presentation and insert the picture covering the whole background. There are two ways you can do it.
First, you can pick the image as the slide background or you may insert the image as a new picture object in the PowerPoint slide. The latter will give you more flexibility if you do not want to cover the whole slide.
Aside of being used as an engaging idea for your presentation, this tool can be used to make educational PowerPoint presentations for the classroom, and encourage students to think about the essence of a topic.
