Weaken the credibility

These words may sometimes depict lack of preparation on the part of presenter which may leave negative impact of you upon your listeners.

Let us discuss about some important steps that may help in avoiding filler words.

Firstly, you need to assess the frequency with which these words are being used, do they act as a distracting factor or are they hampering your credibility? After assessing all these factors, try to make improvements so that these mistakes are not repeated in future.

Secondly, try to find out the factors that make you lethargic of these words or phrases. These words clearly depict that a person is still thinking about what to say next so as to carry forward his presentation.

Thirdly, it i important to slow down the pace of speaking so that your brain gets some time to think and include relevant points rather than using filler words to continue the speech.

Fourthly, you can always replace the filler words with a pause. This will take you in a better position.

Fifthly, raising your preparation level can prove to be of great help. You will notice a steep decline in the usage of filler words when you are well prepared as your brain is equipped with ideas to represent all the thoughts effectively.

Know your target audience well before the presentation. This will act as a motivation factor and also inculcate self confidence within you so that you can deliver a striking conversation.
