This guide will walk you through the process of sharing your PowerPoint presentations using Dropbox, as well as introduce other platforms you might consider.

Easy Way To Share PowerPoint Presentations via Dropbox

Uploading Your Presentation File to Dropbox

  1. Access Your Dropbox: Navigate to your Dropbox dashboard to begin. Here, you’ll find the option to upload the PowerPoint presentation you wish to share.
  2. Upload and Prepare for Sharing: Locate the file on your computer and upload it to your Dropbox account. Once the upload is complete, the file will appear in your Dropbox file list.

Generating a Shareable Link to your PowerPoint File

  1. Obtain the Shareable Link: Right-click on the newly added file in your list. A menu will appear with several options; select “Get Link” to proceed. Alternatively, you can click on Share or over the three dots that appear on the file item you added.

Pro Tip: This method of generating links in Dropbox is similar for any other file. If you wonder how to share a Dropbox file, be it a Presentation, a Spreadsheet, or any other file, you can follow this same approach.
  2. Copy the Link: A dialog box will open, displaying your PowerPoint slides within the browser. You’ll be prompted to share the PPT. By clicking the “Copy the Link” button, the link to your presentation is copied to your clipboard, ready to be shared online. At this point, you will see a list of options. Click Share and Share with Dropbox to share the presentation by email, or alternative, click Copy link to copy the link to share to your clipboard.

Once you have the link generated, it is time to share with others.

Before doing so, preview what others will see when opening the link shared.

For this purpose, you can try copy and paste of the link into a new Incognito tab. Open a new incognito tab (Ctrl-Shift+N in Windows) and open the link shared. Here, you will see a preview of the shared presentation. If all looks good, you can safely share this with others either by email, Messenger, any other chat, or even Whatsapp.

In this example, we opened aspect ratio test file that is a PPT we have created for our other tutorial on how to change the aspect ratio in PowerPoint. But you can try it with your own files.
