PowerPoint can help you to explain a lot of things, but making a dinamic and easy to understand presentation is your own work.

How to lose stage fright by using PowerPoint presentations

When you’re going to talk to an entire audience, your nerves may betray you. You can beat memory lapses, tremors and fear by practicing some exercises:

  • Expose your presentation in front of your family or friends. With them, you will feel more comfortable and it will help you to practise. They will tell you your mistakes, and they will give you some guidance for improving your talking skills.
  • Try not to memorize what you’re going to say. Learn the most important concepts, and then try to improvise your speech by using a fluid and understandable language. Not too colloquial, but not too cult. You will reach this level by practicing in front of big audiences: The more you try, the best you will do.
  • Know your audience. What type of persons are you going to talk to? Are they students, workers, managers…? That will change your speech’s scheme.
  • Keep some good sleeping and eating habits, that will be essential to feel awake and alert, and to answer any question or complaint from your audience.
