Create And Find Quizzes To Test Your Knowledge With Quizlet

Last updated on July 28th, 2023

Quizlet is a web service that allows users to create and search for quizzes to tests their knowledge. Quizlet has no pre-determined curriculum, which makes it more flexible as students can select subjects to test their knowledge against and teachers can create tests which may suit the needs of their students. No need to use PowerPoint presentations or quizzes using Microsoft Office applications. Other than teachers and students, Quizlet can also be beneficial for common users who may require memorizing important instructions.

Quizlet is suitable for students of all ages including the young ones and the ones who may be looking to test their skills for a more advanced curriculum. Interestingly, Quizlet can also be used for people other than students and teachers. For example, a waiter can learn his menus by making quizzes and an IT pro can make quizzes regarding server configurations. Quizlet started in 2005 and was the brainchild of a very young Andrew Sutherland, who was 15 years old at the time. Quizlet was in fact a high-school project for Andrew, as initially his aim was to create an easy to use tool for learning vocabulary. After building Quizlet for himself, he shared it with his friends which started this web service.

How to Create Quiz in Quizlet?

To begin using Quizlet you can sign up for a new account or login using Facebook. After signing up, you will be asked to either opt for the yearly $15 package or to use the free version. Needless to say, if you are not interested in the paid package, simply select the free version. The paid version allows users to upload their own images, provides an ads-free interface, with unlimited classes. The free version only allows conducting up to 8 classes and enables using images via Flickr (and not custom images). After logging in, you are presented with your Dashboard from where you can create new quizzes and explore the ones created by other users. The Study Sets section allows making new sets and searching for existing ones.

The Find a Set option provides you with a list of available sets from other users, you can also search for sets related to a specific subject by using the search box.

Quiz Sets

After you select an existing set you can take the respective test and also filter out the options which you wish to keep for undertaking the test (e.g. multiple choice questions, True/False, Grading options, etc).

Take test

If you are a teacher, you can select the Find or Create a Class option from the Dashboard and create your own sets which can be shared with other members. This way you can collaborate with other users (e.g. your students) to share educational sets with them.
